The naming of the Azores is a flight of fantasy. Those who gave it its first name saw - or imagined seeing - the goshawks (Açores, in Portuguese) flying over the islands and thus named the archipelago after them. In fact, there were no such birds there, but did they hear them anyway? On the same flight, ORNITOFAUNIA is a sonic inventory of imaginary birds from São Miguel, Azores. We will invent hearable images of these birds in the form of ceramic whistles to build a set of ornithofauna…
ORNITOFAUNIA is a project created by CAROLINA GARFO and LENDL BARCELOS.
Until the end of the festival, the exhibition can be made, daily, between 10 AM and 6 PM.
