Improvisation drives the psychedelic universe of Acid Mothers Temple, the Japanese collective founded by Kawabata Makoto in 1995. Moving between cosmic rock, experimental folk, minimalism and noise, the group constantly reshapes its sound, drawing on a lineage stretching from Les Rallizes Dénudés to the collective freedom of Sun Ra Arkestra. With over a hundred releases, the collective maintains a discography as extensive as it is unpredictable, spanning its various incarnations. The arrival of vocalist Jyonson Tsu in 2017 marked a new chapter, with hypnotic live performances that build towards moments of ecstatic intensity and spontaneous invention.
