Combining corn and cheese tortillas in an appetizing delicacy proves that, when it’s time to get going, simple and practical things work best. And that's how the combo of DJ Quesadilla (a chef gilding rhythms and sautéing dance floors) and Tascá (intimate space known for its bohemian vibes and local poetry) cooked up one of the most cherished pressure-cooked concerts of the festival. Giving flavor to this 2016 memory, we have DJ Quesadilla, himself:
«I arrived at the festival innocently thinking that I was going to play my vinyl records. But when I get there, not even a pendrive table nor a CD table was there. Therefore, the solution I found was to play music with two mobile phones connected to Youtube and Spotify. For two hours there was a kind of party black hole! Mr. Paulo kept giving everyone shots. I remember Casper Clausen (from the bands Efterklang and Liima) on top of the bar pulling people up to join him. Catarina Martins, a member of the Portuguese parliament, showed up without knowing very well what was going on, and I ended up playing “Hey Jude!” by the Beatles. People sang along to it on the street, from Tascá to Coliseu Micaelense. This thing about playing music is funny: sometimes when you don’t have the best conditions end up being the most memorable nights.»
