Unwitting as to what sins they might be atoning for, the pilgrimages that the people from Antena 3 take around the island of São Miguel are always painful. Despite that, the fact that their Master Pilgrim is from São Miguel and already seasoned in the field (radio broadcaster Tiago Ribeiro, of course), makes the journey little less arduous. To take us on their journey, Marta Rocha (known for the Antena 3 program, “Razão de Ser”, for the “Brancos Costumes” podcast and for interviewing The Parkinsons in front of Cervejaria Micaelense) said the following:
«In 2021, Tremor, being outdoors, was graced with all of things that are bound to happen outside in the Azores, namely a storm with strong winds that was ruining flight plans. In fact, that year, my image reporter, Catarina Peixoto, and I had come earlier to do some reports. Tiago Ribeiro, who was supposed to arrive the day before the broadcast, had his flight pushed to an earlier date and he didn’t get a notification. I have very vivid memories of being alone, having dinner and thinking “I’m going to have to do the broadcast alone. I don’t know how to do this.” But everything went well. In fact, this whole issue was a miracle. That same year, our technician, Marco Moreira, set up the studio in one of the most beautiful places ever, right in front of Ilhéu de Vila Franca, and he kept calling us to say that he was holding a parasol over our stuff to protect it from the storm. To power our broadcast in Vila Franca, we had to “pull” energy from the house in the village. In other words, we had a stretched wire that went from this gentleman’s house to the spot where we were broadcasting. We thought of a thousand other places but Tiago Ribeiro, because he worked at Antena 1 Açores and knows how to deal with people, managed to come up with this solution. The best thing about Tremor is that I always go there thinking I'm really prepared, and yet I always end up face to face with some random situation I wasn't expecting. It truly lives up to the “Expect the Unexpected” motto.»
