With an initial purpose of re-inhabiting some forgotten spaces in Ponta Delgada, Tremor remains faithful to its mission of re-contextualizing and reviving places, sounds, bands and, in this story’s case, the memory of loved ones. Known by some as a father, husband, brother-in-law, friend, actor, and teacher, and remembered by all those who passed through the festival for those 10 minutes of warm conversation at the counter of La Bamba while exchanging tickets for bracelets, Pedro Garcia left us in 2021 and he is deeply missed. But, as remembered by Jonathan Afonso (instrumentalist from Terceira and artist, Tremor 2022), let's pretend that this year he will still be with us to listen to yet another concert under the sun, sitting on the grass, somewhere among flower beds in the José do Canto garden:
«Tremor was probably my first serious concert. Initially they had told me that I was going to play in the pineapple’s greenhouse, but from what I understood there was a problem with the space, and they moved my concert to Jardim José do Canto. It was only later that I found out why Kitas had chosen that location: it was the place where Pedro Garcia (Kitas's brother-in-law) had gotten married. He explained that since Pedro passed away, his family had stopped visiting that place. And therefore, in addition to being a beautiful space, Kitas put me there to bring good energy back to the space and create new memories around Pedro’s memory. He managed to make the concert even more beautiful.»
