Plutão Camaleão Cultural Association was founded in early 2017, in Ponta Delgada, to mark the union between Lovers & Lollypops, independent curator António Pedro Lopes, and YUZIN-Agenda Cultural, around the TREMOR festival and its multiple sub-projects.

Supported by a diverse team and a multidisciplinary and personalised vision across various aspects of cultural and tourist dynamics, Plutão Camaleão works to renew the cultural fabric of the Azores. It promotes a series of diverse cultural events that showcase artists, structures, institutions, spaces, contexts, communities and cities, as well as the Azores as a stage for cultural and artistic experiences both within and beyond its borders. The focus of Plutão Camaleão's work is on promoting Azorean music, the Azores as a destination for culture and music in symbiosis with nature, and the creation of events and content through synergies and bridges with other similar structures.

The future of the Association is inextricably linked to the regionalisation and internationalisation of its brand and the ideas and projects inherent to it. This desire to grow beyond the borders of its home island will always be linked to the recognition of the importance of the sustainable development of local relationships that have supported the action of what will be its driving force - Tremor Festival. The festival organises concerts, talks, workshops, artistic residencies, tours, publications, cultural itineraries, audiovisual content, collaborations between local artists and visitors, etc.

Plutão Camaleão organised 12 editions of Tremor Festival, which earned several honourable mentions from Ponta Delgada's City Council and Vila do Porto's City Council. In 2019 and 2023, Tremor was the most media-covered event in the Azores, according to the communication impact company CISION. In 2024, the communication impact value of the Tremor Festival amounted to three million euros, with renewed national and international critical acclaim from the specialised press. In 2025, Tremor received the Best Small Festival award and the Best Contribution to Tourism award at the Iberian Festival Awards. Also this year, Tremor is nominated for the American Global Arts Prize 2025 for the relevance of its contribution to the future of culture. Since 2020, the Association has had public utility status, granted by the Government of the Azores. In the same year, Tremor was considered an event of regional and national interest by GEPAC. The ongoing project with ondamarela and the São Miguel Association of the Deaf won the national Acesso Cultura award and several communication awards for the project's documentary video in Portugal and Spain.

The Association is also responsible for two European projects:

1. Terra Incógnita, which since 2021, and in its implementation phase, has been the winner of the European EEA Grants mechanism in partnership with Norway, maps the natural heritage of the Azores through its walking trails and landscape, inviting artists to create unique experiences in these locations.

2. Edge, a European network that brings together Tremor with two other European festivals in peripheral territories of Europe - the Azorean Tremor festival, the Canarian Keroxen festival and the Cypriot Fengaros festival, which combines different cultures, musical genres, discussion topics, and environmental concerns to trigger constant debate and collaboration among its members.
