Inspired by the close relationship between musicians from the islands and the universe of modular synthesizers, the Azorean Modular Orchestra (OMA) is a singular and ever-changing collective, conceived to exist in a one-off and unrepeatable form at each edition. Under the coordination of an invited project, artist, or band, OMA proposes a durational performance that will occupy and transform a space in the city of Ponta Delgada, inviting the audience to immerse themselves in an evolving and immersive sound experience. The collective will be formed through an open call directed at the local community, open to professional or amateur musicians who own synthesizers or keyboards. In 2026, the invited artists to coordinate this residency are Water Damage, a collective from Austin known for their hypnotic and deeply immersive approach to drone-based music.
