“And we have the people” is a collective listening session that travels back to 25 April 1974 through the most comprehensive sound document of the Carnation Revolution. It offers a unique chance to hear the voices of the people, the military, and journalists, capturing the sounds of the Coup and the Revolution, from Terreiro do Paço to Largo do Carmo — footsteps, shouts, megaphones, radio communications, helicopters, tanks, and the street energy that marked the dawn of a new era. First presented on 25 April 2025 in the central atrium of the Convento do Carmo ruins in Lisbon as part of the 51st-anniversary celebrations, “E temos o povo” travels across Portugal in 2026, bringing this historic radio document to audiences in both the mainland and the autonomous regions.
