Buried by Lava is a quartet from São Miguel Island, in the Azores, formed in 2017 in the municipality of Nordeste. After introducing themselves with the EP “Blind Truth” in 2020, they created the annual LavaFest to bring together local artists and audiences. In 2025, they released “In Your Eyes We Perish”, produced by the band itself, with vocals recorded in Zurich and mixing and mastering done at Waveyard Studio, on Terceira Island.

Buried By Lava were one of the projects selected by FAÍSCA, an open call that boosts the creation and visibility of new music produced in the Azores, promotes the artistic diversity of the archipelago, and which for Tremor 2026 was strengthened to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Autonomy by highlighting its contemporary voices.
