This year, Tremor 2024’s programme will include 4 workshops from the EDGE platform. This initiative—free and open to non-festival ticket holders—has the intention of creating a space for the exchange of experiences in the area of music and organisation of events. For this edition, proposals in the areas of sustainability, music production, community creation, and DJing are lined up.
Guided by Nikoletta Polydorou, the first proposal for March 18th is a “Community Music” workshop, where participants will be trained on how to use music as a powerful tool for inclusion and integration of children and young people with fewer opportunities. On the same day, multidisciplinary artists Pura Márquez, Nestor Torrens and Simone Marin, organisers of the KEROXEN Festival, will present “Recycling, Sustainability and Integrating Agriculture as Art: Reimagining a Music Festival”, a workshop that will explore the universe of KEROXEN, showing how this project managed to involve different cultural movements, becoming an agent of change that, with music as a link, aims to inspire the experimentation of styles and coexistence between artists.
On the 18th and 19th of March, the All Hands On Deck collective will lead a “DJing” workshop for beginners, aimed at women, trans and non-binary people. It will cover topics such as: organising music libraries, beatmatching, and mixing electronic music.
Finally, on the 6th and 7th of April, the Ondamarela collective returns to the Azores for an intensive collaborative musical exploration workshop open to musical and social agents who work with communities. Musical skills will be developed in relation to leadership skills, communication and collaboration, creativity, and teaching and learning processes.
Registration is free for all the workshops and can be done via the EDGE website.
