In November 2024, we were unexpectedly struck by the collapse of our office and workspace in Ponta Delgada. With the solidarity, attention and affection of countless people—it takes an island to make Tremor and to bring culture into everyday life—and after many conversations, searches and relocations, we finally found a new location in the centre of Ponta Delgada. We need a name for our new home. 

Picture this: A garage, a warehouse, 400m2 arranged in an L-shape, with natural light. Around it, two gardens, a cultural centre, a soccer club, a school, a church, a restaurant, and the sea at the end of the street. This address will be home to the projects of two associations: Plutão Camaleão (Tremor Festival, Ciclo, Terra Incógnita) and Silêncio Sonoro (Yuzin, Marca Pistola, Rádio Vaivém). It will be the home of these and other projects yet to be created and protagonists yet to arrive. 

Picture this: We want it to be a place full of music and different forms of art.

An open, attentive, brave, safe space. A place for meetings, conversations, sharing, presentations, parties, screenings, learning.

A place to experiment with ways of being and celebrating, to pass on knowledge, a place to resist, inscribe and flourish. A shelter, a place to create communities.

A new home in Ponta Delgada. A place of creation and creativity. A place to let the world in and to tell yet another new story to the world, about the present and about tomorrow in the vibrant and thriving Azores.

We need to put a fitting name to such a place. With the twelfth edition of the festival coming up, we're relying on you to do it. A name that pushes us into the future, that makes us imagine possibilities never before explored and inspires us to tell new stories. After all, you're the ones we'll be creating our new home with. As a gift for the best name, we have two festival tickets to give away. From 12:00 (AZOT) on 3 March until 23:59 (AZOT) on 16 March, anyone wishing to take part must fill in the form, read and accept the contest’s Terms and Conditions.
