Tremor Festival and Arquipélago – Contemporary Arts Center join forces once again to launch the 2025/2026 edition of Ciclo, a capacity-building and collective creation program aimed at professionals, students, and amateurs in the cultural and artistic fields who live or work in the Azores.
Created in 2021, Ciclo has established itself as a space for non-formal education, where the exchange of knowledge between guest trainers and participants selected through an open call fosters new practices, projects, and networks of collaboration. Combining online and in-person sessions, the program focuses on sharing tools in cultural management, programming, and artistic creation, strengthening the region’s cultural ecosystem.
In the 2025/2026 edition, Ciclo will take the form of a temporary autonomous zone of encounter, dialogue, collaboration, and collective creation, culminating in an original artistic project to be presented at Tremor Festival 2026.
From November 2025 to March 2026, participants will take part in four training modules — Artistic Practice, Artistic Programming, Project Management, and Technical — alongside mentoring sessions with artistic coordinator Raquel Castro (curator, researcher, and filmmaker), and a final residency for implementation and presentation at the festival. The modules will be facilitated by António Pedro Lopes (Artistic Programming), Márcio Laranjeira (Project Management), Diogo Medeiros (Technical), and Henrique Fernandes (Artistic Practice).
Applicants should be musicians, artists, art students, promoters, curators, producers, lighting, sound, and video technicians, content creators, as well as professionals and amateurs engaged in cultural and artistic practices. Participation is free of charge, subject to mandatory registration, and limited to 10 places. During the selection process, priority will be given to candidates with original ideas, the desire to develop cultural and artistic projects, or those seeking training in the program’s areas of focus.
Applications are open from September 9 to October 9, 2025 (11:59 p.m. GMT-1), via an online form. Each applicant must submit a motivation letter, biography, work samples, and a project idea to be developed within the context of Ciclo.
A jury composed of the Artistic Coordination and the Artistic Direction of Tremor Festival will be responsible for the selection, with results announced on October 22, 2025.
