Sensible Soccers are André Simão, Hugo Gomes and Manuel Justo. Hailing from the north coast of Portugal they bring us a symbiose of electronic music and organic instruments, resulting in hypnotic sounds unraveled in synths, inventive guitar arrangements, and divergent musical approaches that spiral from shy ambient-oriented sounds to dance-invoking psychedelic beats. Their first EP, Sensible Soccers, was released in 2011 and since then they have been played in stages throughout Portugal, Spain, France, England, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Their latest album, Manoel (2021), is soundtrack for two movies (Douro, Faina Fluvial e O Pintor e a Cidade) by the acclaimed director Manoel de Oliveira. With four albums and a loyal following, Sensible Soccers has earned its status as a cult band.
Norwegian violinist and composer Inger Hannisdal works at the intersection of folk, improvised and contemporary music. Exposed to contemporary classical from a young age and with an early education in both classical and jazz violin, In her own music she combines folk music timbres with contemporary impulses, shifting between composed and improvised structures. Focusing on microtonality, her compositions draw on modes from both Norwegian and Middle Eastern traditions. As a solo performer she uses preparations and extended techniques on the violin with an approach that, while experimental, retains a connection to folklore.
